Awareness
Educating our communities is key to eradicating modern-day slavery. In order for victims to be more successfully identified and rescued, the general public must first understand that human trafficking is a crime and happening all around us.
Triad Ladder of Hope utilizes volunteers to organize massive campaigns against slavery in order to bring awareness to the public. Training and education on how to recognize a victim is available for law enforcement, churches, clubs, organizations, service providers, teachers, students and anyone else that might come in contact with a victim of human trafficking (which means pretty much everyone!).
Rescue
Triad Ladder of Hope depends on people in the community to recognize and report possible trafficking situations.
We then work closely with local law enforcement and the FBI to quickly and safely rescue victims from their current trafficking situations.
Restoration
Dealing with trauma:
After victims of slavery are rescued, there is a great demand for their immediate needs to be met. Triad Ladder of Hope works together with other nonprofits to provide victims with shelter, food, clothing, medical attention, trauma counseling, protection and legal aid.
If the victim is an undocumented immigrant then a social worker is also provided to help with obtaining temporary legal status. (For more information on the Trafficking Victims Protection Act TVPA please visit our web site.)
Triad Ladder of Hope is currently working towards opening a shelter where trained staff will continue to help victims find restoration through the services mentioned above.
Re-entry
Moving beyond the trauma:
After a victim has begun the process of dealing with the horrible trauma of exploitation and enslavement, they are often ready to move past it and on with his or her life.
The goal of Triad Ladder of Hope is to continue providing a safe and heathy environment for victims to rebuild their lives. To enable and prepare former victims for re-entry into society as healthy confident individuals, TLH works closely with other local non-profits where former victims can continue to receive services and assistance. Job training and English skills are also offered as way to empower these men and women.
